Games and Martial Arts have been an important part of Indian culture since the ancient times. Reference to them can be found in the Vedas and the Indus Valley Civilization.
A mantra in the Atharva Veda, says that, "Duty is in my right hand and the fruits of victory in my left". These words hold the same sentiments as the traditional Olympic oath: "....For the Honour of my Country and the Glory of sports...."

Martial Arts: Fighting is as old as man himself. The desire for domination and the thrill of victory over the opponent sowed the seeds for martial arts. A large number of people are attracted to martial arts due to its self-defensive techniques.Martial arts is a sport of self-defence, fitness, meditation and character development.
