The story of Helen keller##

                                     Magic of love and care-
        
        It is the story of a child who, at the age of 19 months, lost her hearing and vision to an illness. But in spite of the odds she grew into a highly intelligent and sensitive woman. She is a symbol of victory over all challenges and gives this credit to her teacher who helped her overcome her challenges with confidence.

  

          Helen was nearly seven years old when she meet her teacher, Anne Sullivan. From that time, the - teacher and pupil, were inseparable until the teacher died. Her teaching began when her teacher put Helen's hand under the spout of a fountain. As the cool water gushed over one hand, she spelled into the other hand the word "w-a-t-e-r" first slowly, then rapidly. Suddenly, the signals had meaning.

         She knew that water meant the wonderful cool substances flowing over her hand. Quickly she stopped and touched the earth and demanded its name. By nightfall she had learned 30 words.

Helen mastered the alphabet and went on to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in 1904 and wrote many books like 'The story my life' which is available in more than 50 languages, including Marathi, Pushtu, Tagalog and Vedu. 

She received many awards and always cared for the other blind and deaf individuals. Helen Keller died on June 1, 1968,at the age of 88.
